About

We are the only conservation organization dedicated solely to permanently protecting Connecticut's Farmland. We are governed by a Board of Directors made up of people of various backgrounds including farmers and agricultural professionals. Since 2002 we have protected nearly 2,100 acres of farmland on 26 farms around the state, have assisted partners in the preservation of 789 additional acres, and have served as a leading resource on conserving Connecticut's working farmland.

Our mission is to permanently protect Connecticut’s working farmland. To accomplish this, we:

Work with Connecticut farmers to protect their land for agricultural use by acquiring agricultural conservation easements and farmland;

Share our expertise and technical knowledge to assist landowners, land trusts, town officials, and state agencies in protecting agricultural land; and

Promote farmland preservation education through presentations and outreach.
