About

Dahveed's Voice and Vision was established in February, 2005 with the emphasis on bringing awareness to foster children and all children that will become Our Future.  DVV recognized that the lack of focus on foster children and children of color that are in the foster care system is from the lack of public awareness.   As an advocate for these children, DVV serves as a resource, support system and voice in an effort to bring about a change, awareness and a new vision.

Dahveed is a freelance writer and photographer.  Through The Eyes of a A Foster Child: a Poetic Journey is the first of several books to be released by Dahveed. As a result of his own experiences and witnessing those of others, Dahveed's poetry and essays focus on controversial topics that most would ignore. He explains his writing philosophy as "writing releases what the soul cries out for us to hear."

His mission while writing his first book was to bring awareness, a new voice, and a new vision as it pertained to foster children. Dahveed believes that the lack of focus on foster children stems from the lack of information provided. Since the publication of his book, he has written articles on several websites and blogs for others to read. He writes mostly for the joy of it and also because he has a voice that needs to be heard.
