Daniel's House Publications was founded in 1999 to help reach familes who have lost a child to death. Durham, North Carolina founder and owner, Alice J. Wisler, lost her 4-year-old son Daniel in 1997 to cancer treatments at UNC-CH Hospitals. Since his death she has been an advocate for writing through grief and loss. She teaches Writing the Heartache Workshops both online and across the USA at conferences. Alice is a speaker on bereavement, an author of five novels, two cookbooks and a devotional on grief and loss as well as an instructor of writing. Her organization has a free newsletter, memorial cards, books, and two blogs to assist those dealing with losses. She is a forum manager and contributor at Open to Hope.
