About

Since the young age of seven, Santa Barbara native David Courtenay has musically expressed his life's experiences - sailor, surfer, Yogi and "son of a preacherman" - emerging as one of today's most soulful rock and reggae singer/songwriters. From piano, guitar, and music composition as a child, to his first professional performance at age 17, Courtenay's jazzy-hued pop grooves were influenced by The Beatles, Billy Joel, and Marvin Gaye. Today, Courtenay provides heartfelt performances and is highly sought by local venues, charities, and festivals to perform. His most recent album, Godspeed, features Zach Gill (of ALO and Brushfire Records) on keyboards, and was produced by Jesse Siebenberg (A Fine Frenzy, Supertramp, Lissie), of Brotheryn Studios.
