About

DEAFCYBERCON is a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our mission is to create a sustainable pipeline of career opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing women in cybersecurity.

DEAFCYBERCON aims to increase the net job growth rate for full- and part-time positions in cybersecurity for deaf and hard-of-hearing women. DEAFCYBERCON provides deaf and hard of hearing individuals with access to tools (e.g., skills assessments, certifications), real time knowledge (e.g., internships, technology evaluations, hands on training, soft skills), expertise (e.g., resume review, interviewing skills) and the connections (e.g., hiring managers, mentors, job announcements) they need to find meaningful cybersecurity work.

DEAFCYBERCON partners with public, private, and non-profit organizations as it seeks to gain their commitment to creating an accessible environment for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals through the use of sign language, interpreters, closed captions, or assistive technologies.

DEAFCYBERCON has an online, cloud-based community where deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals explore, identify, and excel in careers in cybersecurity. The online community provides access to curated, tailored content regarding industry trends, industry-sponsored bootcamps, conferences, internships, job openings, career fairs, and mentors.

DEAFCYBERCON develops, distributes, and manages a collection of products and services that enable public, private, and non-profit sector organizations to attract qualified cybersecurity talent, meet their hiring objectives, and integrate deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals into their workforce. These products and services may include annotated resource guides that enable a organization to locate American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters within their local vicinity; leadership development training to enable organizational leaders to manage members of the deaf workforce; and assessments to enable organizations to leverage new and existing assistive technology (e.g., closed captions, video relay services, etc.) that align with the needs of the deaf workforce.

DEAFCYBERCON develops, delivers, and facilitates educational activities such as certification bootcamps, seminars, conferences, workshops, and training courses designed to prepare deaf and hard of hearing individuals for careers in cybersecurity.
