Document Makeover runs entirely inside your own browser, on your own
computer. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account to create, and there is no
subscription. Once downloaded it works offline, which makes it usable for
material that is confidential, unpublished or under contract.
The app reads Word (.docx), plain text, Markdown and saved web pages. It does
not read PDFs — PDF is what comes out, not what goes in. Optional AI extras,
including a logo maker, cover art and title suggestions, use your own API key
from a provider such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or OpenRouter; every other
feature works without one.
