Dr. Joan Steidinger is seasoned sports psychologist with offices in San Francisco and Mill Valley. She is a Certified Consultant through the Association of Applied Sports Psychology (CC-AASP) and on the United States Olympic Committee’s Sport Psychology Registry. A life-long athlete, she was a pioneer competitive ultrarunner, longdistance road cyclist, and continues to be a trail runner, hiker and Himalyan trekker.

A frequent speaker throughout the US to high school and college athletic teams and sports organizations, Steidinger is also a recognized expert and media resource on sports psychology, motivation and performance in athletics.  

She is the author of the award-winning book, "Sisterhood in Sports: How Female Athletes Collaborate and Compete" (Rowman and Littlefield, ISBN 978-1-442230330), a well-researched look at the mind and brain strengths common to women athletes.
