The site was started by a Jewish entrepreneur who saw the need to have God in mind while surfing the internet. A mezuzah guards gates or portals, and the computer is one such portal to the outside world in form of the internet. For starters there are 12 different virtual mezuzah widgets to choose from. Each one is 7 dollars, which is a number closely associated with God in the Jewish religion. Each virtual mezuzah widget is clickable, which reveals the mezuzah scroll in both Hebrew and English. A percentage of all proceeds go to support the Weizmann Institute in Israel.
