ASTI is redefining a market that has been in place for over 25 years. The Center for Disease Control estimates that 25% of all Americans suffer from some form of chronic insomnia or sleep problems. Worldwide, that number reaches 500 million. The most common non-pharmaceutical treatment is behavioral modification. Traditionally, sound machines have been used to create an artificial sound environment to enable better sleep. Unfortunately, while sleep problems are prominent, good sound machines are not. Traditionally, devices have been made of extremely poor quality materials and contain short, synthesized and repetitive audio. In some cases, the sound quality has been so poor that the device becomes more of a distraction than the background noise it was bought to mask!
