Ecovia Renewables was formed in 2014 to commercialize the pioneering research of Dr. Nina Lin & Dr. Jeremy Minty at the University of Michigan. Our mission is to engineer microbial co-cultures that enable more efficient, cost-effective routes for producing biofuels, bulk biochemicals, and specialty biochemicals.

Ecovia's EcoSynthâ„¢ platform leverages synthetic microbial ecosystems to efficiently produce target biochemical products. Our lead product series BioGelâ„¢ Biopolymers are high-performance, water-retaining biobased polymers tailored to absorb up to 100-300x their weight in water with high adhesive properties.
