About

EMK Press is a creator of information and resources for families whose lives have been touched by adoption, foster care, or kinship placements. We have books that help parents be successful parenting the children who have come to them.  Other resources are books for younger children that allow them to voice their thoughts and feelings, a book for teens to help them understand they aren't alone.  Our mission is education for anyone involved with adoption and fostering. We have a wide variety of parent resources available for free downloading on our website. We are a small press with a distinct voice. Most of our books are submission based filled with authentic and real voices.  They have BTDT and speak from experience, either professional or life based.  We believe that information has power when it is shared and work hard to get information to those need it.  Current books include: The Foster Parenting Toolbox, edited by Kim Phagan-Hansel: Adoption Parenting: Creating a Toolbox, Building Connections edited by Sheena Macrae and Jean MacLeod; Pieces of Me: Who do I Want to Be? an anthology for adopted teens edited by Robert L. Ballard; We See the Moon by Carrie Kitze, a book that helps children connect with missing or unknown birth parents; Forever Fingerprints, An Amazing Discovery for Adopted Children by Sherrie Eldridge; I Don't Have Your Eyes, a book for attachment and attunement when parent and child look different; and At Home in This World, A China Adoption Story by Jean MacLeod.  Upcoming books include Foster Parenting, Creating a Toolbox, Fostering Connections and Pieces of Reunion, Adoptees, First Parents and Adopted Parents Share Their Stories, edited by Melanie Recoy and Claudia Corrigan D'Arcy.
