About

Entrust Freedom is a member of The Entrust Group.  As a Self Directed IRA Administrator, we enable clients to use IRA funds to invest in "alternative" assets, such as real estate, notes, LLCs, Commodity Futures, etc.  Our clients like the fact that they are in control of where their retirement funds are invested, and they get the opportunity to invest in what they know best.  Why haven't people heard about this?  While the IRS has always allowed for a broad range of investments in an IRA, they have not made it a requirement that IRA Administrators offer this to their clients.  The key is to find an administrator like Entrust Freedom that is willing and able to hold these assets.  Self Directed IRAs are not a special type of IRA.  You can set self-direct any type of IRA or Qualified Plan.  It is referred to as Self Directed because the IRA owner is the one making the investment choices, not the Administrator.
In addition to administering Self Directed IRAs, we are also a Qualified Intermediary for 1031 Exchanges.  We have the only two Certified Exchange Specialists (CES) in Southwest Florida on staff.  The 1031 Exchange is a great opportunity for the real estate investor to save valuable tax dollars when selling and buying business-use or investment real estate.   Both the IRAs and 1031 Exchange are valuable tax strategies.
