Eco Pickled Surface (EPS) is an environmentally friendly replacement for acid pickling of flat rolled strip steel, including HSLA and stainless steels. EPS 'pickles' steel using a patented slurry blasting process which uses ordinary water and steel grit. It offers numerous advantages in both cost and manufacturability over acid pickled steel strip.

The EPS process was developed and is owned by The Material Works, Ltd., of Red Bud, Illinois, USA
