Pro Boxer Ivan Redkach Launches Free Nonprofit for LA Youth After Undefeated Career in the Ring
The Ukrainian-born fighter with 15 professional bouts and 13 knockouts, father of two, and Lou DiBella protege is now fighting his biggest battle outside the ring. Equal Chance Boxing Foundation offers free boxing, mentorship, and recovery programs to kids and families across Los Angeles.


LOS ANGELES, CA  Ivan Redkach has never backed down from a fight. The Ukrainian-born professional boxer competed in 15 professional fights and won 13 of them by knockout, earned the nickname "Terrible," and competed under the promotion of legendary boxing figure Lou DiBella. Now he is taking everything the sport gave him and putting it to work for the kids and families of Los Angeles through his newly launched nonprofit, Equal Chance Boxing Foundation.
The foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides free boxing training, mentorship, and addiction recovery support to youth and underserved communities. No registration fees. No monthly dues. No barriers. Just access to quality coaching, structure, and the kind of guidance that can change the direction of a young person's life.
Redkach knows firsthand what a difference that kind of opportunity makes. He also knows what it looks like when it is missing.
"I fought future world champions and Olympic gold medalists. Sometimes I lost by one point or two points. It was never about who had more talent. It was about who had more support, more access, more of a real chance. That is why I built this foundation. Because every kid deserves that chance, not just the ones lucky enough to be born into it."

FROM SHOSTKA TO LOS ANGELES
Redkach was born on March 11, 1986, in Shostka, Ukraine. He began his serious boxing training at 13 years old at the Brovary Higher School of Physical Culture under coach Oleksandr Polishchuk. By the time he was 19, he was competing against grown men at the Ukrainian National Championships, reaching the final twice and earning silver medals in 2006 and 2009.
He represented Ukraine in international competition year after year, consistently going toe to toe with fighters who would later win world titles and Olympic medals. The margins were razor thin, and the lessons were permanent.
After turning professional, Redkach moved to Los Angeles and began training under renowned coach Mario Morales. He made his pro debut in November 2009 with a technical knockout victory and never stopped winning. His career took him through title eliminators and victories over former world champions, and he built a reputation as one of the most disciplined and relentless fighters in his division.
He signed a promotional deal with Lou DiBella, one of the most respected names in the sport, and walked to the ring to Tina Turner's anthem "Simply the Best." He even had the chance to meet Turner personally in Los Angeles, a conversation that stayed with him and pushed him to keep reaching for more.

WHY THIS FOUNDATION. WHY NOW.
Redkach is the father of two children, a daughter and a son he loves deeply. Becoming a parent put a new lens on everything he had seen throughout his boxing career: the talented kids with no way in, the young adults who slipped into addiction because no one gave them structure, the families who simply could not afford access to the kind of training and mentorship that shapes character.
He could not unsee it. And once he became a father, he could not ignore it either.
"When I look at my kids, I want the world for them. But I also look at the children coming through our doors and I want the same thing for every single one of them. Every time I coach a young person at this foundation, I am thinking about my daughter and my son. This is personal. Every bit of it."

Equal Chance Boxing Foundation was created to answer one straightforward question: what happens when people who have been overlooked are finally given real structure, real support, and a genuine shot? The answer, Redkach believes, is that they rise.

A BOARD FULLY COMMITTED TO THE CAUSE
Behind Redkach is a board of directors that is not here for the title. Every member joined because they believe in this mission personally and are committed to seeing it through. They bring accountability, experience, and a shared conviction that access to opportunity should not be determined by a family's zip code or bank account.
Together they are building an organization designed to last, to grow, and to reach every corner of the community that needs it most.
