About

Essential Living Support, LLC is a Veteran-owned home and community-based services provider located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We proudly serve two deserving populations: Veterans through the VA Medical Foster Home Program and individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) through Wyoming’s Department of Health Waiver Services.

We are honored to be the first VA Medical Foster Home established in Cheyenne, Wyoming, setting the standard for compassionate, family-style care for Veterans who wish to live with dignity and independence in a real home rather than an institutional setting. This milestone reflects our deep commitment to serving those who have served our country and creating a safe, supportive environment for individuals with special needs across our community.

At Essential Living Support, we understand that many people we serve face two major challenges: finding trustworthy, consistent care and feeling truly connected and valued. Veterans often desire a home environment that honors their service, safeguards their privacy, and provides dependable support from caregivers who genuinely care. Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities frequently seek stability, respect, and meaningful inclusion in their communities. Our mission is to meet these needs by providing care that is both personal and purposeful, where every individual is seen, heard, and supported.

Our services include assistance with daily living activities such as meals, medication management, hygiene, and laundry; transportation to medical appointments and community events; and personalized life-skills and social engagement programs. Each plan is customized to the individual’s goals and abilities, promoting both independence and confidence. Whether it’s helping a Veteran maintain autonomy or supporting an individual with I/DD in learning new skills, we focus on fostering self-reliance and emotional well-being.

As a VA-approved Medical Foster Home, our residence provides Veterans with an alternative to nursing home placement. Each Veteran receives 24-hour personalized care from trained and compassionate providers, within a warm, family-oriented environment. We coordinate closely with VA healthcare professionals to ensure that every aspect of the Veteran’s physical, emotional, and social health is addressed. This approach helps Veterans maintain their dignity and enjoy the quality of life they deserve.

For individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, we focus on holistic growth and community participation. We promote opportunities for learning, recreation, and personal achievement. Whether it’s swimming at a local gym, participating in Special Olympics, or engaging in volunteer activities, our goal is to help individuals experience connection, inclusion, and purpose every day.

Our guiding principles—Respect and Dignity, Independence, Community, and Excellence—define every decision and interaction. We believe that everyone deserves to live in a home filled with respect, compassion, and encouragement. Every meal shared, conversation held, and goal achieved reflects our belief that care should feel like belonging.

At Essential Living Support, LLC, caregiving is more than a service—it’s a partnership built on trust. We work closely with families, case managers, and healthcare providers to maintain transparency and deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes. We also partner with local organizations and community resources to expand engagement opportunities and strengthen the support network for our clients.

Our distinction as Cheyenne’s first VA Medical Foster Home represents more than a milestone—it symbolizes a movement toward more compassionate, person-centered care across Wyoming. We are proud to set the example for what true home-based care should be: safe, respectful, inclusive, and focused on the whole person.
