About

SILVER SPRING, Maryland – The Bridge Church will hold another exciting family focused outdoor festival on July 20 at the Silver Plaza, Downtown Silver Spring, 916 Ellsworth Drive, to help the city's homeless.

The event, Expression Live, will raise money and collect donations of toiletries and clothing for the city's homeless population.

Expression Live, which will be held between 3pm and 8pm rain or shine will feature singers, dancers, as well as activities for children, street performances and much more.

Local vendors who want to help the city's homeless will also be on hand throughout the day.

In 2013, the fifth year of Expression Live, the church is partnering with Shepherd's Table, a nonprofit group that helps the homeless, and all the monies raised will be donated to Shepherd's Table.

Since President Barack Obama launched his "Opening Doors" strategic plan in 2010, the plight of the homeless has caught the attention of the national media. But with a weak economy and 1,500 homeless people living in Silver Spring – and 7,000 in the Greater Washington D.C. area – the need to provide help has never been greater.

Deborah Jones, who is organizing Expression Live, is available to provide details and local color ahead of the event.

Please contact me to arrange an interview with Ms. Jones or to answer any questions you may have about the event. Thank you.
