About

First Corinthian Baptist Church (FCBC) was first organized in 1933. Since 2004, Pastor Michael A. Walrond, Jr. has served as senior pastor. Under Pastor Walrond's dynamic leadership the membership of FCBC has grown from 350 members to more than 10,000 members. FCBC is dedicated to upholding its purpose statement: “We are an ever evolving community of visionaries and dreamers who have been called by God to live the lives we were created to live; commanded by God to love beyond the limits of our prejudices and commissioned by God to serve.”

After major renovations in 2012, FCBC established itself as a cultural arts venue through The Sanctuary. With a vision of making the arts more accessible to the Harlem community, The Sanctuary is dedicated to producing and presenting theatrical, musical and visual art that reflects the community in which it serves.
