About

Femi Olawole is the author of The Price of Ignorance, a 283-page e-book which he describes as an urgent response to the large-scale ignorance that pervades the lives of young people across the world. In the book, he laments that “sexual ignorance has become so endemic in the lives of these young people that they fumble and wobble into maturity through bitter lessons in sexual experimentation. Unfortunately, these lessons often leave them with physical and emotional scars.”
In conveying this sensitive message, the author adopts a modern African nation as the setting for The Price of Ignorance. Olawole stated. “On the one hand, I wanted to showcase sexual ignorance as a universal problem. And, on the other hand, I resolved to use the opportunity provided by this book to take readers on a grand excursion into the heart of Nigeria, the most populous black nation on earth. Unlike the usual tendency of most books that fall under the rubric of African literature to play to the gallery by focusing entirely on African civil wars, poverty, victim mentality and other stereotypes, The Price of Ignorance presents a total picture with emphasis on celebrating Africans and their cultures, values, hospitality and love for education in spite of their human foibles.”
