Five Seasons is a narrative dining concept operating in the Iblean hills outside Ragusa, Sicily - a UNESCO World Heritage baroque city in southeastern Italy.

Founded in 2025 by Finnish chef and performance artist Mikko Rautiainen, Five Seasons operates at the intersection of gastronomy, memory, technology and ritual. Twelve seats. One story. Three nights a week.

The concept was born from a simple but radical premise: that a dinner can be more than a meal. That food, when placed inside a precisely constructed narrative, can become the medium through which guests encounter memory, grief, transformation and reconciliation - not as metaphor, but as lived experience.

THE FLAGSHIP EXPERIENCE - THE REQUIEM
The Requiem is Five Seasons' signature offering. Described by its creator as an edible opera, it is a fully composed work - twelve courses, an original score, designed lighting, and a narrated text delivered through wireless headphones - in which food is the medium and the guest is the subject.

Guests are seated individually. Each place is set with a tablet, wireless headphones, and a small sealed box with a single instruction: do not open until prompted. The evening lasts approximately four hours. Guests leave differently from how they arrived.

The Requiem uses spatial audio composition and AI-assisted sound sequencing to guide each guest through a wordless sensory journey. Finnish-Sicilian cuisine moves alongside the narration - fermented, cured, foraged, precise - composing a score you taste rather than hear.
After 18 sold-out pilot performances and 100% five-star guest ratings, Five Seasons opened to public reservation in 2026.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Mikko Rautiainen (born 1979, Finland) trained in 1, 2 and 3-star Michelin kitchens in Finland and Denmark before withdrawing from traditional fine dining to craft experiences that exist at the boundary between food, performance and emotional truth.

He holds a Guinness World Record for the most appearances across national versions of the Got Talent franchise, received a Golden Buzzer on Finland's Got Talent, and has performed alongside Lady Gaga in London. A single performance reel reached 89 million views online. In 2025, he relocated to Sicily and founded Five Seasons.

THE FIFTH SEASON FESTIVAL - APRIL 7-11, 2026
In April 2026, Five Seasons opens its doors to the world for five days. The Fifth Season is an international festival of gastronomy, technology and Sicilian food culture held in Ragusa, Sicily. Five days of keynotes, panels, workshops, producer showcases, a technology demonstration of The Requiem, the Five Seasons Academy launch, a public market and a closing gala dinner.
