On November 7-11, the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) will hold their annual convention at the Marriott Century Center in Atlanta. The UDC is a racist group which erects Confederate monuments, sanitizes slavery, and has openly celebrated white supremacy. In its early years, the UDC promoted and worked alongside the Ku Klux Klan.

Today, the UDC fights local communities trying to remove their Confederate symbols. By promoting the mythology of the “Lost Cause”, the UDC still helps violent white supremacists to recruit and grow. While the UDC claims not to be a hate group, it works year-round to normalize racism.

The UDC’s convention is being held near a heavily Jewish and immigrant neighborhood of Atlanta. They’re not wanted.

Since Marriott International hotels insist on hosting the racist gathering, we’re organizing the largest, loudest, most energetic protest in the history of the UDC convention.

Join a coalition of community and activist groups on November 9th to oppose the UDC convention. .
