The Florida State Animal Response Coalition (FL SARC) is a statewide disaster response and training program operating under SPCA Florida. FL SARC supports local and state emergency management agencies by providing trained volunteer responders to assist with small animal emergency sheltering, evacuation support, field operations, and disaster recovery efforts.
Through a standardized training curriculum aligned with the Incident Command System (ICS), FL SARC prepares volunteers and partner agencies to safely and effectively manage animal sheltering operations during hurricanes, floods, cruelty cases, and other large-scale emergencies.
FL SARC works in partnership with Florida Division of Emergency Management, ESF-17 (Animal & Agriculture), county emergency management offices, animal control agencies, and nonprofit animal welfare organizations to build statewide capacity and readiness.
The mission is simple: Be ready. Respond professionally. Support communities when animals need us most. Because the WHOLE Family Matters!
