Soso Bobmanuel Foundation Launches GoFundMe to Empower
Nigerian Youth Through Sports and Mentorship

Port Harcourt, Nigeria – 29|07|2025 The Soso Bobmanuel Foundation (SBM Foundation),
a youth-focused non-profit organization based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, has launched a
GoFundMe campaign to expand its transformative work in sports development and
mentorship for underserved youth across Nigeria and beyond.
Founded in 2015 by former Nigerian professional basketball player Soalatom “Soso”
Bobmanuel, the SBM Foundation has spent nearly a decade building a haven for young
people, guiding them to discover and maximize their talents through sport, education, and
community support.
“Our mission is simple but urgent, to give the next generation of African youth a real
shot at success,” said Soso Bobmanuel. “Through sports like basketball, we not only
build physical strength and skill, but also discipline, mentorship, and life-changing
opportunities.”
Building Hope Through Basketball
Basketball, the sport that shaped Bobmanuel’s own journey, is at the heart of the
foundation’s programming. Since its inception, SBM Foundation has organized five
basketball camps and three full-scale competitions in Port Harcourt. These efforts have
opened doors for talented youth, many of whom have gone on to attend schools and
academies overseas through scholarships and athletic opportunities.
Beyond the court, the foundation’s weekly mentorship and development program,
launched in 2016, nurtures long-term personal growth. Participants from the program have
earned spots in major national and international tournaments, collecting individual
and team awards that reflect not just talent, but dedication and community support.
Expanding the Vision
The GoFundMe campaign aims to raise essential funds that will allow the foundation to
scale its impact  identifying and supporting untapped youth potential not just in Port
Harcourt, but across Nigeria, and eventually throughout Africa.

mission to empower, uplift, and equip the next generation of African leaders through
sport and mentorship.
