The GAHNA Initiative represents India’s bold move toward achieving technological self-reliance in the realm of cybersecurity. GAHNA (Generative Architecture for Hyperlocalized Neural Assistants) is a family of sovereign Small Language Models (SLMs) designed for domain-specific intelligence and reasoning. The flagship variant, GAHNA CyberMind, is tailored for cybersecurity and threat intelligence applications capable of parsing CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures), triaging incidents, assisting SOC teams, and offering real-time insights, all while maintaining data localization and compliance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act. Developed with a “Sovereign-by-Design” philosophy, GAHNA is India’s answer to foreign AI dependence, lightweight, locally trained, auditable, and optimized for deployment in critical national infrastructure, from defense to banking.
At the heart of the GAHNA Initiative is ExorionAI, a cutting-edge AI research and innovation lab founded by Dr. Utpal Chakraborty, one of India’s foremost AI and Quantum scientists. ExorionAI specializes in building sovereign AI solutions that are aligned with the IndiaAI Mission and National Cybersecurity goals. Dr. Chakraborty, a former Chief Digital Officer, Head of AI at YES Bank, and Principal Architect at IBM and L&T, has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s AI ecosystem. With over two decades of experience, 400+ technical publications, and global recognitions such as Gartner Ambassador for AI and Global AI Ambassador, Dr. Chakraborty brings vision, rigor, and national commitment to ExorionAI’s mission: building sovereign, secure, and socially-responsible AI for Bharat and the world.
