About |
The Castelnau des Fimarcon is a fortified village from the 13.th century, partially classified as ISMH, which since 1986 can be rented. The whole ensemble is available for exclusive use for family parties, marriages, seminars, conferences, think tanks and incentives. The houses can also be rented separately, and we do B&B also.
And as James Henderson from Financial Times says:
"There are few places in the world where it is possible to hire an entire village..."
The village has been through a renovation process that has lasted for many years, where only traditional building materials have been used, in accordance with the principles of The Venice Charter.
It’s refurbishment is typical from Gascony; simple and elegant. The decoration is in perfect harmony with the views and landscape.
And additionally, Castelnau will soon become totally carbon neutral.
All the energy which is used will be compensated for by an equivalent production of renewable energy.
Further, the rainwater will be collected and stocked, in order to be used to water the gardens.
The water which is used will be treated organically.
All soaps, beauty products, washing powders and cleaning products are biodegradable and non polluting.
All plants and trees are local and are being kept in an organic manner.
We also have 7 goats, a black pig and 3 chickens, which are part of this modern ecological dream in a preserved ancient place.
Out of the 16 houses, which are to be found on the interior of the fortifications, 12 are put to the disposition for our guests (33 rooms and suites, 7 living rooms, 2 libraries, 15 gardens, and the Monumental Stables have 3 equipped meeting and banquet rooms, as well as a big terrace that dominates the protected landscape.
