Green Communications Initiative (GCI) is a nonprofit public benefit corporation devoted to people consuming responsibly.   In order for true environmental change to transpire human material consumption must be reduced on a scale massive enough to represent a tipping point.  This is a communication inspired from the consumer grass roots upward to the point at the top where producers and government intersect.  

Communication is a process that by definition involves sharing.  The Latin root of the word comes from communicare, to share.  Also at the root of communication is a community.  Together we must take the initiative to protect and preserve the health of our miraculous blue and green planet.


At GCI we are committed to people consuming responsibly.  We want to facilitate communications among all stakeholders in the health and wellbeing of our environment, from the consumer grass roots upward.  We are dedicated to people defining for themselves what it means to protect and preserve our environment by consuming responsibly.   We are devoted to improving public trust by eliminating the communication of confusing and conflicting information and greenwashing.  By creating a dialogue between people and makers of green products about the way we consume them, we create a partnership for the stewardship of our blue and green planet.
