Hello, I am Geraldine Doble, the owner of Geraldine Marie. I design quality jewelry that is inspired by my love and respect of nature using natural materials such as embedded leaves or flowers in Eco epoxy resin, real gemstone beads, pearls, pearl beads, natural silk cord, gold filled and silver filled chains, findings and wire for women who feel a deep connection to nature and want to take it with them. I absolutely love preserving a real flower or leaf, and turning it into something that is cherished forever.
I have a very close bond to nature from growing up in the western mountains of Maine. The outdoors has always been my safe haven through the ups and down in my life, everyone goes though things, and I still use nature to gain perspective in this hectic world. As a child, I would spend all day exploring and observing the natural beauty season after season. There is this serenity that comes over me seeing the first flower after the long winter, or seeing the first splash of red, orange or yellow at the beginning of every fall. But these beautiful things don’t last very long. Its just how it is, right? Thats what I thought until I discovered this method of preserving these beautiful things forever, and I was hooked. I am so passionate about this. I try to put these feelings into every piece. I love every single part of making this jewelry. I have made this my life's work to love and respect each flower, pinecone, and leaf taking it from something that would surely wilt and disappear, to making it into something unique, loved and adored by you.
I have always adored rocks and can remember how excited I was the first time I saw a real opal on my mother’s ring. It mesmerized me, with the sheer beauty and tiny colorful flecks. Where did this come from? It was so beautiful. As I got older I learned there were so many gemstones with different colors and textures with different ways to showcase these on earrings, or broaches, rings, necklaces, basically any way you could imagine. It was so exciting to me to see all these amazing rocks turned into trinkets, like the quartz I grew up collecting and cherishing. To me, adding gemstones (in any form) to the jewelry I make is exactly the same in terms of value as an embedded flower. It starts off in a natural state and I turn it into a polished, magnificent wearable piece of nature. So it was an easy decision for me to add gemstones to resin encased flowers and leaves.
