About

Global Marine Networks (GMN) helps Fixed and Mobile Satellite Services providers and their customers by offering the industry’s fastest, most reliable and easy-to-use E-mail, web, and other hardware and software services to maritime, oil and gas, first responder and business continuity users. The company’s products include high-speed satellite email, weather and oceanographic data software, vessel tracking systems, and ship to shore communications solutions for users of satellite and wireless data services.

Most recently GMN released the webXaccelerator for for ship-to-shore and remote communications needs for the commercial fishing, marine transport, cruise ships, offshore oil rigs, and first-response communications coordination markets. The webXaccelerator is a data accelerator and control router that gives users of satellite and other wireless data systems unprecedented control of their satellite data installations, while providing data speeds up to five times faster than uncompressed rates.

The core product offering is XGate which provides faster satellite and wireless email to significantly save airtime cost and dramatically increase efficiency. Designed for satellite phone, Pactor, or cellular customers who must have access to fast and reliable email while in remote locations, XGate is simply the most comprehensive and cost-efficient wireless email product available, saving both time and money. In fact, XGate can reduce satellite air time cost for cruise ships, fleets or yachts by up to 85%.  It is up to 15 times faster than slow uncompressed air time connections to Internet based email systems.  No other commercial service is as fast, economical or has XGate's powerful benefits to meet customer needs.

As a leader in vessel tracking GMN offers both hardware based and email based tracking solutions.  GMN XTracker technology provides dependable tracking that sends out position reports at pre-programmed intervals via a proven satellite data link. GPS position reports are recorded, transmitted, and posted on the web in 20 seconds, on average. Both XTracker units have modest power requirements, which make them ideal for remote locations where solar panels or batteries are the only source of electricity. Position reports contain date, time, latitude, longitude, and average course and speed over the ground. The Xtracker IR uses proven Iridium technology, allowing reports from anywhere in the world while the XTracker GS uses the Globalstar satellite network which provides coverage over most traveled areas of the planet.

Wtih XGate's Vessel Tracking managers can keep track of their assets easily with no need to purchase expensive third party hardware.  XGate has a feature which allows users over slow satellite phones to request the position reports and tracks for vessels in their fleet. Any user who has the XGate Vessel Tracking module can do this. When using XGate to download position reports, the position reports are displayed locally on the computer using a number of different viewers.

GMN has numerous awards and certifications for technical innovation and holds pending patents on its products. For more information on how GMN is Making Airtime Count™ - whether ship to shore, or in remote or emergency communications environments visit www.globalmarinenet.com.
