About |
Gradi and Rob first embarked on this mammoth project nearly 12 months ago in memory of Gradi's dad who passed away in January 2007. Her dad Michael used to tell gradi stories of the MURPS and MURPLAND nearly 30 years ago and in turn gradi has told the same stories to her 2 children. In this first book Gradi and Rob have used michaels friends as characters and put in a dedication to thank all of them for their support during those tough times! Michaels stories always had a point to them so in this book Gradi has done the same. The idea is to get across to kids that if they are being bullied in any form or are feeling sad then tell someone because there will always be someone that will support them. This book tells of a little boy called Sammy who is being bullied at school, and by dreaming his way into MURPLAND he tells the MURPS what is going on and they stand with him while he finds the courage to stand up to his bully. As this is a childrens book Gradi and Rob thought it a good idea to raise some money for BBC CHILDREN IN NEED so 25p from the sale of each book will be donated to them. They hope to attract worlwide attention with the help of these colourful, funny irish characters called the MURPS, kids will love the light hearted read and the messages that each book will bring. Gradi and Rob have sent hundreds of letters out to local schools with thousands more to go out during the course of the year. They have also wrote to radio and television personalities along with every football league club in England and Scotland to ask for their help to promote this book! The price of the book is £6+p&p. Please help.
