About

Life is never boring back at the Pond when Iggy, Radic, Cabby and Roc get together. Join them for a humorous, yet educational look at the world from nature’s point of view. All of nature serves as the stage for Green pieces© cartoons, naturally, the world's greenest and most environmentally friendly humor TM.  Cartoonist and Author Drew Aquilina draws upon his love of the environment and nature as inspiration for this hilarious cartoon strip.

Every day you read stories about a new species of animal or a scientific or environmental breakthrough.  Clouds, insects, birds, mammals and plants from all over the world are game for Green pieces and the soon-to-be-released compilation,  Green Pieces:  Green From the Pond Up.  ISBN: 978-1-58985-191-7, Five Star Publications, Inc., Chandler, AZ, 1-480-940-8182, distributed by Ingram Books and Baker & Taylor.  Publication date:  September 4, 2010 / Copyright date:  2011.

This cast of characters is led by Iggman, a claustrophobic Eastern Painted turtle; an annoying dragonfly named Radic; an omnipotent, techno-bullfrog named Cabby; and a rogue raccoon named Roc.  As the seasons turn, Green Pieces: Green From the Pond Up explores how turtles, dragonflies, frogs, raccoons, birds, deer, squirrels and nature’s denizens coexist, even when man intrudes on their surroundings.  Learn more about the book at www.greenpiecesbooks.com.

Drew began drawing a comic strip known as Iggman on Campus in 1987.  It was published for three semesters at UMass Amherst.  Thereafter, the strip became Green pieces and ran in The News-Times, Danbury, CT, two other Connecticut newspapers, the student paper at Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ and currently is enjoyed daily in other Arizona publications and at www.greenpiecescartoons.com.

If you’d like to know more about Iggy and his pals from the pond, Drew would be more than happy to sit with you and let you in on some secrets of nature that only his characters can tell – in a humorous, yet educational kind of way.  You know, being green is very cool these days.  Back at the pond, the characters are all about sustainability, except maybe for Radic.  We never know what he’s going to do next. That’s why an interview with or presentation by Drew would be perfect for your publication, school, event or organization.
