Scaffold inspectionGood to Go Safety was officially launched in May 2009 at the UK's Safety & Health Expo.

Our SEMS is a simple to use system for equipment inspection and management. The SEMS consists of 3 key components:

  1. A highly visible, tough, durable, weather/UV resistant status pod. This is attached to the equipment using cable ties, screws, rivets or adhesive. Once attached, a clear message is displayed stating 'DO NOT USE' immediately informing employees that this equipment has not been checked. The same pod can be used on any piece of equipment.
  2. A range of check books.  Our check books have been developed in line with key industry guidance and legislation. Each book provides key guidance notes, informing employees of key checks to make before using the equipment. Each book provides 25 individual checks and provides a duplicate carbon copy of each completed inspection to be retained in the book for future reference. Each checklist has a unique sequential number, providing a simple chronological audit trail.
  3. A tamper evident seal. Each pod can be sealed with a tamper evident seal, to ensure the pod status display cannot be altered/tampered with at any time.

The pod is attached to the equipment (e.g. ladder, scaffold, forklift, MEWP, racking etc), prior to use, an employee uses the check book to carry out an inspection to ensure it is safe for use. Once an inspection is carried out, the top copy of the checklist is taken out of the book and placed inside the status pod. This clearly states if the equipment is 'good to go' or 'not to be used' and informs of the date of validity.

Anyone looking to use this piece of equipment can immediately see if it has been checked and if it is safe to use. It is ideal for any equipment with multiple users. A tamper evident seal can be attached for additional security.
