About

The Grinders Switch Foundation is dedicated to the cultivation of the cultural arts in the Hickman County, TN, region. The Foundation is created in memory of Sarah Ophelia Colley Cannon, Minnie Pearl, who was raised in Centerville, Tennessee and still has living relatives in the area. The Foundation is seeking to transform the Old Hickman County Courthouse on the public square of Centerville into a center for the promotion of the arts. Music, in particular, is a very rich tradition, but other folk art forms are prevalent and important to the region's economy and lifestyle.
