About

We at Guild are delighted to unveil our collaboration with internationally renowned garden designer Andy Sturgeon, the 'energy wave' sculpture at Chelsea 2012.

The sculpture, formed from over 2,000 laser cut, irregular copper rings is designed to kinetically sweep through the Garden creating energy, patterns of light, adding form and texture.

Handmade by Guild craftsmen, the 'energy wave' is finished in a rich copper patina to compliment the 'arts and crafts' theme at the core of the garden's design.

"One of the major elements of the arts and crafts movement was jewellery so I wanted this sculpture to feel like a piece of jewellery. It’s very elegant, you can see the very fine workmanship that’s gone into it."   Andy Sturgeon.

At Guild our philosophy is to create sculptures which harmonize with their surroundings rather than pure focal point forms. All our sculptures are individually designed to compliment, not dominate, their environment, to take on the natural forms and colours around them.
