About

The Westbrook Foundation was founded in March 2008 by Helen Townsell-Parker and co-founder Christopher Harris who are active volunteers for Washoe County Parks & Recreation.
The Foundation's primary focus is on youth empowernment through educational scholarships.
In memory of Ollie and Helen Westbrook, Helen's grandparents, the Foundation was organized to keep the Westbrook's vision alive in stimulating our youth to achieve their goals through education.
The Westbrook Foundation selects a local high school in Washoe County yearly and gives a scholarship which would be administered by the school. The first and second scholarships went to Procter Hugh High School, one in 2010, and one 2011.
The motivation of the Westbrook Foundation stems from a historical book titled "A Cry For Help" authored by Helen Townsell-Parker in collabboration with Christopher Harris.
