The Historical Writers of America is a Newport, R.I.-based nonprofit created to support fiction and nonfiction writers who focus on the past. The organization, which sponsors an annual writer's conference, welcomes all kinds of writers and genres, from literary nonfiction to historical romance, from bloggers to screenwriters.
