HIP is focused on two initiatives. Firstly, HIP has archived early digital marketing film and DVD campaigns, saving them from obscurity as changes in technology and the delete key puts these campaigns in peril of being erased forever. The organization works with digital marketing executives and the creative agency community to gather digital assets of classic campaigns to archive them in redundant physical and cloud backup systems. The HIP Archive currently represents over 450 campaigns, from the 1990’s to the 2000’s, from banner ads to full websites, from 17 studios, including all the majors. HIP is also producing a “Behind The Campaign” oral history project, as the stories of how the campaigns came to be are just as important as seeing the work.

Secondly, HIP produces events specifically to bring the digital community together for networking and industry celebrations to promote the archival effort and encourage donations of content for the archive. The marquee event is THE SILVER PIXEL AWARDS. The awards ceremony gathers over 300 digital executives celebrating trailblazing executives in the industry, exemplary campaigns from the previous year, as well as honoring a seminal campaign from the past that has stood the test of time.
