About the Identity Ecosystem Steering Group
The Identity Ecosystem Steering Group (IDESG) is a private-sector led organization that was created to administer the development of policy, standards, and accreditation processes for the Identity Ecosystem Framework.  Membership is free and open to all and already includes over 250 diverse organizational and individual members. The vision for the IDESG was first described in the NSTIC (National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace) issued by President Obama in April 2012. The Strategy envisions an Identity Ecosystem that can replace passwords, allow individuals to prove online that they are who they claim to be, and enhance privacy.  The IDESG is working to achieve this vision.
