About |
IEP Desk is the first bilingual platform built specifically for parents navigating the special education system in the United States. Available in both English and Spanish — not as a translation, but natively in both languages from the ground up — IEP Desk gives families the tools they need to be confident, organized, and effective advocates for their children at every stage of the IEP process.
The special education system in the US is complex, legally dense, and often overwhelming for parents. Individualized Education Programs involve federal law, timelines, evaluations, goals, services, placements, and rights that most families are not trained to understand. Spanish-speaking families face an additional barrier: documents are often translated late, inaccurately, or not at all, leaving parents signing agreements they don't fully understand. IEP Desk was built to change that.
What IEP Desk does
IEP Desk brings together every tool a parent needs in one place:
My Child gives parents a complete profile for their child — disability category, diagnosis, school information, and key contacts — so everything is organized and accessible from the start.
My Plan allows parents to upload their child's IEP document directly. The AI automatically extracts goals, services, accommodations, and key dates, turning a complex legal document into a clear, actionable roadmap.
Calendar keeps track of IEP meeting dates, evaluation deadlines, annual review dates, and other critical timelines so parents never miss an important date.
Diary is a private log where parents can document every interaction with the school — phone calls, emails, meetings, incidents — creating a clear and timestamped paper trail that is invaluable if disputes arise.
Documents provides a secure space to store and organize every document related to the child's education — evaluations, IEPs, letters, reports, and more.
Progress allows parents to track their child's progress toward each IEP goal over time, with data they can bring to annual reviews and meetings.
Meeting Prep guides parents through the process of preparing for IEP and 504 meetings — helping them organize their priorities, formulate the right questions, and walk into the room with confidence.
My Rights gives parents clear, plain-language explanations of their legal rights under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and Section 504, so they understand what the school is required to provide and what they can request.
Glossary provides definitions of the specialized terms and acronyms used in special education — from FAPE and LRE to ESY and BIP — so parents can follow conversations and documents without feeling lost.
History keeps a record of past IEPs, evaluations, and key decisions over time, giving families a complete picture of their child's educational journey.
Who IEP Desk is for
IEP Desk is built for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities who are navigating the US public school system. It is especially relevant for families whose children have autism, ADHD, dyslexia, learning disabilities, speech and language delays, emotional and behavioral challenges, or other conditions that qualify for special education services. It is also a valuable resource for Spanish-speaking families, who represent a significant and underserved portion of the special education population.
Special education advocates, coaches, and educational consultants also use IEP Desk to support the families they work with — giving their clients a structured, organized system between sessions.
Why IEP Desk is different
There is no other tool on the market that combines goal tracking, document management, communication logging, meeting preparation, rights education, and AI-powered IEP analysis in one place — in both English and Spanish. Most parents currently manage this process with binders, spreadsheets, email folders, and memory. IEP Desk replaces all of that with a single, organized, bilingual platform designed specifically for them.
IEP Desk is currently in beta. Families and professionals who join during this phase have direct access to the founding team and a meaningful opportunity to shape the product's development. Every piece of feedback received during beta directly influences what gets built next.
Our commitment to privacy
