About

The onset of fall means one important thing to sports fans of all ages—high school football—and the new and improved Illinois Prep Scores (IPS) app is the key to staying up-to-date with game stats for teams across the state. In addition to its original features, IPS boasts several enhanced tools for the 2013 season.

The IPS app debuted successfully in 2012. To gain additional users during the 2013 season, the developers added new features and dropped the price from .99 to an irresistible free. In addition to following favorite teams in real time and updating information directly from game locations, the new and improved IPS lets Illinois high school football fans:

•     Chat with other users
•     Add scores, times, quarters, ball possession, and game status updates
•     Share scores via email, text message, Facebook, and Twitter
•     Create a team favorites page for general info, schedules, conference standings, and team rosters

IPS was created by three friends with compatible talents—a graphic/web design guy, a code guy, and a database/server guy (yes, they’re all guys…this is football, after all)—with a love for the game and an understanding that there wasn’t a good way to share updates in real time on game days. “Relying on blogs and message boards for up-to-the minute scores and team information has been a sluggish way to stay updated,” say the developers. “With this app, the fans are the ones updating information as soon as it happens—they are the driving force behind it. This is the only way to get accurate information in a timely manner.”

Illinois Prep Scores is available for iPhones at the App Store and for Android at Google Play, as well as on the IPS site. For more information about Illinois Prep Scores, please visit http://illinoisprepscores.
