About

iTeMS for Health is a professional and personal management e-portfolio for healthcare staff. We provide healthcare professionals with the tools to monitor, measure and manage training and performance through a unique competency framework.

iTeMS for Health works with managers and staff towards a common goal of continued professional development – providing the framework and training management systems to achieve it. At iTeMS for Health:

• We believe that every patient can receive high quality care.

• We believe that all healthcare staff can be confident in their knowledge and skills.

iTeMS for Health provides the framework to monitor and effectively manage the professional development of staff to achieve these goals.

The iTeMS System was created by Libby Shepherd, a nurse manager and nurse endoscopist of international reputation. Libby has unique experience within endoscopy. Libby was a unit manager for eleven years, assessor of units throughout the UK (on behalf of the JAG) for four years and was national Lead Nurse for endoscopy in England.

The combination of her own experience as a nurse unit manager, the ability to see best practice within other units in her roles in the UK and Australia and the development of a nurse training program in England have enabled the development of the iTeMS System. This is a software system developed for managers by a manager whose entire career has been driven by the desire to improve quality: for the patient, for staff and for managers.
