A PLACE TO GROW
JamaicanSpace.com is a place for the Jamaican community to grow.
JamaicanSpace.com is the new phrase being thrown around in the Caribbean community. This is a place to build bridges between Jamaicans around the world. It is also a place for those who are interested in the Jamaican culture and community. JamaicanSpace gives people the opportunity to find out what is going on in their own community, state, or even country. This has started to become a growing social network on the Internet.
Jamaicanspace.com was founded in late June of 2008 after several years of planning. The founder and CEO is Terry K. Reid, born and raised in Jamaica until moving to IL with his family 20 years ago. Reid has never forgotten about his Jamaican roots and continuously has brainstormed ways to make things better for Jamaicans. JamaicanSpace is finally the opportunity he has been waiting for, a place to build and share ideas with each other.
Reid believes that changes need to be made in Jamaica and he wants to help make people aware of such changes. These changes won’t happen overnight, but Reid believes the more people he reaches from his social network site the more aware people will become. The more awareness that is brought about the better chance society has to fixing the problems.
· NOTES:
- Thanks for thinking about this site I love it! (Notoya)
- Great job on the video about helping to get books for the Jamaican youth. I think you hit the nail on the head. If you want a better Jamaica it's going to start with the children. We can start the process but it is them who will change the country. (Ayanne)
