About

The Jill Wakeman Foundation for Equality is a 501C-3 non-profit organization whose mission is to work toward creating a world that has true equality for all people, no matter what race, age, gender, orientation, or beliefs. While we have come a long way in giving everyone equal rights, there is still so much to do. While the actual organization was founded recently (in 2009), the ideals have been seen for over 50 years in the life of the woman whom the organization gets its name, Jill Wakeman. Currently the organization is in it’s beginning stages and the Cups for Equality campaign is our initial fundraising effort to develop a donation base to support our cause. In the future we will be focusing our funds on existing non-profit organizations but as time goes on our goal is to create and operate our own programs that will most benefit the fight for equality.

When most people think of charity fundraisers we imagine huge galas and $5000 a plate donations to raise money for a certain cause. For most of us, paying thousands for a charity event is a bit difficult. The Cups For Equality campaign aims to do the exact opposite: all we are asking you to do is make a donation in the amount that you would normally pay to buy your daily cup of coffee. Even in these tough economic times we can all afford to give a couple bucks to those less fortunate than ourselves. And when we all come together, what may seem like an insignificant amount grows and true change happens!
