Craig Kukuk is the first American Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. After receiving his black belt from the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Rio De Janiero in 1991, he taught at the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Los Angeles and opened his own academies in New York City, Philadelphia, Long Island and New Jersey. Although Craig is recognized as the first American Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, his roots started in wrestling and boxing in the Los Angeles in the 70’s and 80’s.
Over the years, Craig has trained thousands of students including some of the best fighters in MMA as well as world champions. The Freestyle Training Center he founded focuses on developing useful and realistic techniques for fighting and eliminating sport or points as the ultimate goal. Students will not only develop great ground fighting skills and finishing moves such as chokes, armlocks, kneelocks and footlocks but also punches, kicks, knee and elbow strikes.
