FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (FILM): A MOVIE DEAL CUT WITH FIDEL CASTRO’S
EXILE DAUGHTER, ALINA FERNANDEZ REVUELTA.
Austin, Texas 12/13/2007—Fidel Castro’s daughter, Alina Fernandez Revuelta, is taking part of her life story to the big screen. This comes after Artists Relations Group (ARG), an Austin, Texas based movie packaging/production company, recently announced their signing a movie deal with Fernandez.
Fernandez, Castro’s most outspoken relative, has been living in exile in the United States since 1993, when she escaped Cuba disguised as a Spanish tourist. Last year Fernandez was signed on by CNN to commentate on issues related to Cuba after Fidel’s health fell into question; and also hosts her radio talk show Simplemente Alina in Miami. She also has a non-fiction memoir published in at least 11 countries across the world. The story is expected to be a Hollywood style drama with world market appeal. John Martinez, a company partner, commented that: “the budget will be between ten and twenty million dollars, and Fernandez will be collaborating directly with the screenwriter.”
Artists Relations Group is one of the newest names to Hollywood, but gained notoriety with some Los Angeles based talent agencies and management companies after their involvement in The Sno Cone Stand Inc., which stars Tony Sirico, Morgan Fairchild, and Ryan Carnes, and is expected for release in 2008. ARG offers a broad spectrum of abilities that include movie casting and fundraising, and seek to continue working with Hollywood’s talent agencies and management companies across the board.
