NAWLS, founded in 2005, is a safe, non-judgmental, online community of bariatric surgery patients who struggle with weight maintenance and regain, sugar and carbohydrate sensitivity, transfer addictions, emotional eating, and eating disorders. The association provides comprehensive and personal support including retreats and workshops for patients and bariatric professionals, coaching, teleseminars, books, classes, and more.
Katie Jay, founder and director of NAWLS, holds a masters in Social Work, is a certified life and wellness coach, is a bariatric surgery patient maintaining a 180-pound weight loss, and author of "Dying to Change: My Really Heavy Life Story, How Weight Loss Surgery Gave Me Hope for Living" and "Small Bites: Daily Inspirations for Weight Loss Surgery Patients".
