About

I'm Karren Doll Tolliver, an American girl from the Midwest now living the dream in Europe. I've been into photography since 1984 and ran my own photography business for several years. I still do occasional commission photography and stock work. I have worked as a professional freelance writer since 2009 on various subjects, including food, home and garden and technology.

I maintain a travel and food blog at www.ATravelForTaste.com.

I'm the author of 'A Travel for Taste - Collected Czech Family Recipes' and 'A Travel for Taste: Germany', with stories, language, history and recipes from the Czech Republic, Bavaria and Franconia. These books are based on the experiences recounted on my blog.

My bachelor's degree in English and a CELTA qualification for teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) enables me to live and work in Europe. Right now, I live near Munich, Germany, with my husband.

Teaching prompted me to create a podcast for learners of English called Slow American English (www.SlowAmericanEnglish.net). For it I write general-information text about life in the USA and read it slowly so that students can practice listening skills.

I travel as much as possible and journal and photograph everything. Look for the stories and pictures in upcoming blog posts and books.
