Libertarian Party of Virginia

The Libertarian Party of Virginia is an official state affiliate of the Libertarian Party of the United States. Derived from the word liberty, the term libertarian reflects a deep commitment across our membership to act in support of the defense of freedom, as well as a strong emphasis on personal responsibility. The LPVA’s mission is to minimize the scope and expense of government by building a political party that elects Virginia libertarians to public office and moves public policy in a direction that empowers Virginians to manage their lives to fulfill their needs through the mutual free and voluntary exchange of personal effort and property for the value that best realizes their happiness. This steadfast dedication to the ideals of liberty has earned the wider organization a reputation as the Party of Principle.
