Governor Sonny Perdue to proclaim the week of April 27 -- May 3, 2008 as TOASTMASTERS WEEK in the State of Georgia

The fear of public speaking is one of people’s biggest fears. In today’s competitive job market, companies are seeking employees who possess both communication and leadership skills. Therefore, the ability to relate ideas effectively and coherently is essential to advancement in almost all occupations. For over 80 years, hard-working volunteers and staff members have been dedicated to developing and improving the public speaking skills of thousands of individuals across the globe. Their dedication to this cause boosts the level of confidence and creativity, improves leadership skills and ultimately leads to increased production in the workplace.

Governor Sonny Perdue will sign a Proclamation declaring April 27 - May 3, 2008 Toastmasters Week in the State of Georgia.

During the week of April 27 ¬ May 3, 2008, help us celebrate Toastmasters Week by informing the public of the importance of public speaking and the benefits of improving public speaking skills. Encourage all Toastmasters to proudly wear their Toastmasters pin during this week.
