About

The Foundation’s principle is to contribute to the economic development of poor and under-served peoples in Sierra Leone using people-centered development approaches.

Who is Mano Menima Development Foundation (MMDF)?

As a Development Foundation, MMDF Believes:
=> Breathing life into communities and people who almost see impossibility by what  they see around them
=> In the innate possibility and capability of everyone to lead meaningful changes for themselves and their communities
=> In building capacity at the local level to help people help themselves especially those mostly in need.

Founded in 1997 by a dedicated group of community stakeholders people committed to service, the Mano Menima Development  Foundation is a Sierra Leonean based nonprofit development agency that supports communities in becoming agents of change in their own social and economic development. We do this by establishing long-term partnerships with locally based educational initiatives in the country.

The fundamental belief of the Mano Menima Development Foundation is that everyone, irrespective of race, religion, social classes, or economic status deserves a descent life and their human rights realized. Furthermore we believe that the realization of the human rights of indigenous people is one of the main means of alleviating poverty and raising the status of women and children who continue to suffer on a daily basis.
