Marc Ecko parlayed his graffiti art into a business while studying at Rutgers, designing handmade t-shirts that appeared on icons like Spike Lee and Chuck D. In 1993, Ecko Unltd. became more of a driving streetwear force when the initial line of six popular T-shirt designs appeared on Good Morning America. Marc Ecko Enterprises soon expanded into the hip-hop, extreme-sport, and designer-fashion markets and also eckored, a woman's collection. Ecko launched his line of sophisticated urban menswear, Marc Ecko Cut & Sew, in 2004, which is distinguished by its modern styling, attention to detail, and dressier fabrics. Under the three labels of Ecko Unltd., Marc Ecko Cut and Sew, and eckored, Marc Ecko produces footwear, hoodies, track jackets, outerwear, shirts, jeans, activewear, polos, leather goods, gloves, outerwear, underwear, bags, bed and bath products, video games, eyewear, watches, luggage, sporting goods, jewelry and electronic accessories.
