DOCTORS ARE KEEPING YOU SICK
Neurologists Do Not Offer the Simple Seizure Prevention Strategies to Patients

Seizure patients all over are being prescribed medication as a means to suppress the symptom of seizures without actually addressing the cause of seizures.  Neurologists do not teach seizure patients the simple strategies to reduce the chances of seizures.  The first method of treatment is usually anticonvulsants.  This leads to a lifetime of side effects, expensive tests, costly medication, ambulance rides to the emergency room and hospital stays.  All of these things are contributing to the rising cost of health insurance.  Since they are not addressing the cause of the seizures, it is unlikely that the health condition will simply disappear.  Anticonvulsants are strong medications that suppress your brain waves in order to eliminate seizures.

One in twenty-six Americans suffer from seizures.  The condition is as common as breast cancer and just as many people die from it.  People with epilepsy face a huge social stigma and a lot of discrimination in terms of employment and driving privileges.  Many jobs simply are not available to people with epilepsy.  State laws restrict driving privileges following a seizure and are based on a doctor’s recommendation.

Melinda Curle, author of Seizure Free, Addressing the Causes of Seizures Naturally, experienced grand mal seizures and took anticonvulsants for 24 years.  She broke away from her doctor’s advice and eliminated the medication from her life.  She created seizure prevention strategies to keep her seizure free.  She is now saving thousands of dollars on her health care costs, living a higher quality life and is seizure free naturally.  Melinda Curle writes a blog to empower people with epilepsy to take control over their health and live fuller, richer lives.  She currently blogs at http://melindacurle.com about epilepsy empowerment.
